When you find something real, everything else falls into place…

Seniors in high school, Sara and Tobey couldn’t be more different. She is focused on getting into her first-choice college; he wants to win Battle of the Bands. Sara’s other goal is to find true love, so when Dave, a popular jock, asks her out, she’s thrilled. But then there’s Tobey. His amazing blue eyes and quirky wit always creep into her thoughts. Lucky for Sara, one of Tobey’s goals is also to make her fall in love with him. Told in alternating points of view, Sara and Tobey’s real connection will have everyone rooting for them from the minute they meet!

A cutesy, fun read between two totally clashing characters falling in love with each other, not at the same time either. Sara and Tobey have something going for them in the romance department that almost every teen wishes for. However, the ‘perfect’ guy, Dave, Sara’s been waiting for all through the summer asks her out, and she’s beyond thrilled. This happens way before Tobey starts making his move on Sara. Soon she becomes stuck in a relationship where the guy is just plain ignorant and jerk-ish. While on the other hand, she has Tobey who has the hots for her since awhile now. She doesn’t think of him as her type, but they start hanging, and she realizes that he’s a great guy. In the end, you kinda just know who she’s gonna chose.

Sara’s character is likeable and relatable for those who have been through some of the choices she had to go through. Tobey sounded like a cute, music junkie. The little heated day dreams of his got a little annoying to me; I wanted more of why he just thought Sara was the “something real”, not for those desires. I am a mix of both of those characters, so it was pretty radically relatable to both of them–me being a smart girl who cannot live without the essence of music. A great dose of inspiring love while going through a rut in your own love life.
