Annika Truman will go the ends of the earth to help her little brother–or at least as far as hollywood.

Stalking a famous (and hunky) actor and convincing him to come home with you shouldn’t be too difficult–should it? Annika is desperate to get her brother Jeremy’s favorite television star to come visit him in person. That’s the only thing that will convince Jeremy that wishes really do come true. And Annika’s deepest wish is for Jeremy to believe that his upcoming surgery will go well. Annika will stop at nothing to give her brother the power of positive thinking.

I read this heartwarming, romantic, slightly tear-jerking book in one day! (on account, that I was sick and didn’t go to school too) It’s hard putting down this book because it just was!

I really liked how Annika’s character was persistent on being so strong when most wouldn’t be. Annika and Steven’s conversion’s were really deep or funny or just like something you’d tell a best friend that you hardly knew. I could slightly predict what was going to happen at one point, but that’s what kept me reading.

I can’t really say anything else since it would probably ruin the book..

What Would Emma Do? Thursday, Feb 26 2009

What Would Emma Do?Book Title: What Would Emma Do?
Author: Eileen Cook
# of pages: 309
Publisher: Simon Pulse (December 30, 2008)

There is no greater sin than kissing your best friend\’s boyfriend. So when Emma breaks the golden rule, she knows she\’s messed up big-time. Especially since she lives in the smallest town ere, where everyone knows everything about everyone else…and especially since she maybe kinda wants to do it again. Now her best friend isn\’t speaking to her, her best guy friend is making things totally weird, and Emma is running full speed toward social disaster. This is so not the way senior year was supposed to go.
Time to pray for a minor miracle. Or maybe, just maybe, it\’s time for Emma to stop trying to please everyone around her, and figure out what she wants for herself.

Okay, so this is a really good book. However, I don\’t think the book is really based on the back cover which I typed up ^. There\’s only a slight thing of Emma and Colin\’s kiss encounter. Now the last paragraph I think reflects the book more.

Well, everyone knows that you can\’t kiss your best friend\’s boyfriend. Colin and Emma grew up together; they lived next to each other. They knew each other for about their whole lives. Things change when they accidently kiss each other in a mall in a different town but right in front of Joann\’s mother. Woah, now what happens, well you\’ll have to read the book to know!(:

Emma\’s character is so easy to relate with, her questions of faith and herself and life. I\’ve gone though/am going through all those questions about faith. I like how she writes to God at the beginning of every chapter.

Definitely a book that you should pick up, and at least try to read if you don\’t think you would like it.

The ABC’s of Kissing Boys Wednesday, Feb 25 2009

Parker Stanhope has played soccer practically since she could walk. And now that she’s a high school junior, everything she’s worked for is finally coming together. She’s paid her dues on the field, and as an upperclassman she’s a shoo-in for the varsity team.
But that’s not what happens.
This year, Coach Hartley moved up every JV player but two—and one of those two was Parker.
Parker has spent her life being a team player, but as soon as school starts, she’s stuck with (horror of horrors) the freshman, and her love of the game is seriously beginning to fail. Worse? Her friends her own age are cutting her loose, and now the freshman kid across the street is the only person who’ll give her the time of day.
But Parker’s determined to get her life back. She has to get on the varsity team, and she has the perfect plan. The only catch? She has to trick her way into a place in the kissing booth at the school’s annual sports fair, then pull a stunt crazier than any she could ever dream up on her own. But the kiss has to look real. And Parker is less than experienced in that sort of field.
Parker knows that practice makes perfect. Now she just has to find the right coach.

I recommend this book to about anyone whose looking for a cute, light read. I am glad that I got a copy of this book. Thanks Mrs. Ferraro! Haha, if I was Parker I totally want to find my Tristan out there!

I thought the way the chapters were labeled in alphabetically order and had words revolving around kissing/kisses were extremely a great add and was quite cute. The story was really cute too! (i need another word for cute here) I loved the way Parker and Tristan were totally cute and seemed like a great couple. You get to know Parker including her school-self, soccer-self, true-self, and her family. Tristan kinda remains a mystery but there is way a lot of other things involved in the book.

I really wished this book was way more than a mere two-hundred pages, but it really had a great flow that kept me flipping the pages not wanting to put down the book.

After a chance encounter with a mysterious woman one night, Cal Thompson’s life is changed forever. He’s been infected with an insidious parasite. The good news: he’s only a carrier–still sane, without the worst of the symptoms. The bad news: he’s infected all his former girlfriends–and now they’ve turned into what Cal calls peeps. The rest of us call them vampires. And it’s Cal’s job to hunt them down before they create even more of their kind.

I picked this book randomly at my school randomly since I haven’t taken an AR test in awhile for English even though I have enough points. It’s seeing how many I can get within the school year, and I was kinda surprised that they would put this book in our school library but oh well. Even if they sort of freak me out, I do like novels by Westerfeld.

So many vampire books out there, but Peeps is all about vampires in a whole different perspective which is as a disease by parasites. (if you hadn’t figured that out) There isn’t much of a love-ish side to this like Twilight. It sort of freaked me out with all the mentioning of all these parasites that are real. [that’s why I need to read a nice light cute book after this.(:]

Here’s what I got this week..

in-too-deepIn Too Deep by Jennifer Banash
Publish Date: Jan 6, 2009

The Bramford building’s newest resident and small-town transplant Casey McCloy is adapting to life in the Big Apple and loving it. She’s got the look, the attitude, and a delish new boyfriend, Drew Van Allen. But she’s starting to have second thoughts as to whether the “New York” Casey is the real Casey. And she’s not so sure she likes herself much anymore. She’s not the only one.

Madison Macallister has always had her Manolo Blahniks firmly planted on the top rung of the social ladder—until that corn-fed cow Casey stole Drew away from her and made her look the fool. So what if Madison wasn’t exactly dating Drew at the time? She wanted him. And everyone knows that Madison gets what she wants, like Drew—and a little revenge.

Thoughts: Can you read this without reading The Elite?

Mariana Ruiz thought she left her summer fling in Puerto Rico, that is until she finds Alex sitting across from her at the breakfast table. Living two doors down from her visiting old flame isn’t easy, especially given the unresolved sparks still lingering for her locker buddy Bobby—and they don’t exactly go unnoticed.

Her best friends are little help as Madison deals with her IM-only “boyfriend” and Emily sinks into secret mode after her parents’ recent breakup. The only relationship that seems to be working is her estranged aunt Teresa who’s tying the knot on New Years with Mariana and her cousin Lilly as bridesmaids. But the last wedding detail left unplanned is who will Mariana kiss at midnight?

Strained friendships, stolen kisses, and secret loves create plenty of surprises to unfold before the New Year’s bells start ringing…

I usually never finish series for some reason. Well, particullary because I don’t have access to all the books in a series. However, one of the second series I’ve finished after the Uglies by Scott Westerfeld triology.

Wow, I would never except the book to end like it did.. It surprised me. In this book, there’s a page-flipping suspense with some kind of drama held on every page.

I recommend picking up the first in the series and see if you like it!
